#MusicMonday: Fantasy Realms

Music Monday Fantasy Realms new 2

Journey with us this week to faraway fantasy lands, where magic fills the air and danger lurks around every corner. Whether you’re rescuing a prince-in-distress or slaying evil monsters in your manuscript (or in real life), these songs will help transport you to a world of beauty and wonder, where anything is possible.

Warbringers: Jaina from World of Warcraft

I stumbled across this (thank you Spotify shuffle) and I was immediately entranced. The woman’s mesmerizing voice, the eerie lyrics, the sea-shanty style chorus, the incredible animation?? I love every bit of this, and although I know nothing about World of Warcraft (I’m so sorry), this makes me want to dive into this world and raise a ship from the depths.

Versus YouTube Playlist

I wrote my first three fantasy books listening to nothing but this playlist set from the Versus YouTube channel. They recently just uploaded a new one for the first time in what feels like forever and it immediately made me want to start writing, I was so excited! Highly recommend if you want nothing but epic music to score your journey as you explore new worlds.

Flower Dance, by DJ Okawari

In Alwyn Hamilton’s debut novel, Rebel of the Sands (THE best book of 2016, imho), Jin spoke of his homeland Xicha, a paradise in the East, and it was the part of the book that came most alive to me. I love it when characters describe their homelands, often with much wistfulness. I was listening to this piece by DJ Okawari when I read that part, and it will forever remind me of the fabled land of Xicha. ❤️
